Lauren Hutton in Avedon’s “Classic Elegance”, 1973
Back in the days when Mr. Ferragamo was still naming his delicate shoes after the true starlets of his time, when fashion happened behind the closed doors of Paris and New York, and when luxury was not ostentatious but a discreet pleasure…
Richard Avedon captured this hilarious and candid short film of the ravishing actress Lauren Hutton in 1973, backstage at an energetic photo shoot amidst a bevy of hairdressers, makeup artists and stylists.
‘Cold Eye’ by Helmut Newton, 1980In the spirit of dark winter nights spent indoors beneath tinkling crystal chandeliers amidst glamorous company, Coccodrillo recalls the oeuvres of the great photographer and filmmaker HELMUT NEWTON.
Perhaps slip into a pair of seriously-suggestive satin pumps from FERRAGAMO CRÉATIONS, or ANN DEMEULEMEESTER’s rather fetishistic lace-up boots…
… and make sure your man is dressed the part (we’d suggest MAX VERRE’s velour dress shoe, or maybe a smart brogue from CHURCH’S?)
Visit Coccodrillo’s Ladies and Men’s boutiques to discover the season’s decadent footwear delights…
In Florence, Damien’s diamonds…
The Coccodrillo team once again returned to Florence this month, to visit the FERRAGAMO CRÉATIONS showroom for Fall Winter 2011-12. Finding a luxurious spare hour one morning, we ventured across the cobblestones to the Palazzo Vecchio, where DAMIEN HIRST‘s infamous diamond skull “For the love of God” currently resides.
Coup d’Etalage #4: Ferragamo Creations!Ferragamo’s Creations made their smashing debut at Coccodrillo last night, in an intimate cocktail evening for the 4th Coup d’Etalage event. Guests enjoyed their first glimpse of the limited re-editions of many of Ferragamo’s most famous shoes, whilst sipping champagne in the company of designers such as milliner Stephen Jones, Filip Arickx & Ann Vandevorst of A.F. Vandevorst, Raf Simons & Dries Van Noten.
FLASHBACK // Coup d’EtalageTwo days before Coccodrillo kicks off with our 4th edition of the Coup d’Etalage series, we present a snapshot of the previous three events, in which designers stage their ‘coup’ upon the windows of the Coccodrillo stores in Antwerp’s Schuttershofstraat.
